I'm not convinced of that though -- that is, if Samsung continued to do this over a long period of time and other smartphone manufacturers didn't. I think it'd give them a rep of being faster in general. But like I said, there's no way other phone manufacturers wouldn't jump on this right away. I just hope Futuremark banning contributes to putting a stop to it.

I know your post is sarcasm, but that's a completely legit (if not a little risky) method of benchmarking. It's only when the "optimisation" is not known to the one running the benchmark where it's a problem.
