Is there an opensource video editing software for Linux and Windows?

Thread Starter
Im looking for an opensource video editing that will allow me to combine multiple movies into one, chapter selection, and multiple output options. I have and use Premiere CS3 but I dont want to install it over my CS5 design suite and it wont install on Ubuntu. Is there an open source video editing tool out there?

I see openshot but does anyone have any input on it?

Openshot is simple and intuitive. It should serve you well, though you will need another program (such as DeVeDe) to do the DVD related part (chapters, etc.). Create your final video in Openshot, export it in NTSC DVD format, and then run that file through DeVeDe, where you can create the chapters and whatnot.
