Best 27" 1440p monitors for gaming+

Hi Folks,

I have abandoned plans (I think - procrastination extreme this week) to buy a 27" Qnix screen and OC it to 120hz at least till later in 2014. So, I'm in the market for a 1440p 27" screen and I have a relatively unlimited budget. This will be powered by a 780Ti or 290x in December, then a second of same in 2014.

I'd appreciate input on the best options out there. I will use this for gaming (PC mainly, but would like to be able to connect my xbox360 and/or PS3 to alternate inputs) and work - work includes DB, programming and design work but nothing color/video/photo-balance related.

I don't care about speakers or USB inputs - have both/plenty already.

I'd like to get something over 60hz if it's available.

I definitely don't want 1080p.

Advice/input most appreciated!

Decided to post here instead of creating another thread. I'm also looking for a good 1440p monitor for gaming. Only need 60hz. Is the jump from 1080p to ips 1440p big?

ASUS PB278Q & Dell U2713HM are both very good options, 3 year warranty included. I picked the PB278Q because it was $80 cheaper + came with HDMI/DP cables (still is by a $50 margin) and have really enjoyed 1440p BF4 on it.

For 120hz 1440p you will have to buy a Korean one and overclock it.

Sherlock,

thanks for the reply. On the Asus, I see this:

Analog Signal Frequency: 24 ~ 89kHz(H)/ 50 ~ 75 Hz(V)
Digital Signal Frequency: 24 ~ 89KHz(H)/ 50 ~ 75 Hz(V)

Does that mean it runs 1440p at 75hz or something else? I'd love to find a 1440p 27" screen that runs higher than 60hz, without having to go to the Korean options and OCing.

I think there are people on this forum that have tried & succeeded in OCing it 75 HZ, here is the owner's club and you can go there and ask them.
