Asus VG248QE 144hz dvi to hdmi cable or hdmi 1.4a aand above?

Does anyone know if a dvi to hdmi cable can carry the 144hz refresh rate for this LCD.. i have some from maybe 2 years ago.. Or straight HDMI cables.. i'm pretty sure my cables are at least 1.4.. if not the newer ones that supported ethernet and 3D (but unclear on the refresh rate limitation).. i believe 1.4b was 120hz supported, unsure on 144..

I've read that dvi dual link is the only way.. Anyone confirm or deny?

Thanks

DVI-HDMI cables definitely will not work.

Apparently the monitor itself is not HDMI 1.4b compliant.

So i guess any dvi dual link cable should do the trick?

I had a similar cable on hand..

I was able to verify the 144hz worked with the dual link of course.. hdmi to dvi naturally didnt..

Does anyone know if 144hz works in full blown nvidia surround mode (i havent hooked up all 3 yet).. I think i read that it wont work in 3d mode either way (only 120 or 60).

It rather sucks that you cant do 144hz via hdmi.. because it would have been nice to have used hdmi audio through the receiver and back to the main screen etc.. but optical works ok instead.
