My 5770 (an old card, I know) sounds like a fricken plane engine whenever I'm in a GPU-intensive game. I've set the fan speed at 35% through the Catalyst software, which makes my computer nice and quiet during normal computing (browsing the web or watching a movie). However, it seems like whenever I boot up a game it'll crank up the GPU fan to 4000+ rpm which makes it nearly unbearable. For some reason it seems to bypass/ignore my fan speed setting whenever the temp kicks up. I'd like to keep the fan at 40~50% at the most during games but it automatically goes to like 80%+ and I have no idea how to control it.
