Time to upgrade

Thread Starter
The time has finally come to upgrade from my GTX 570. After getting a 1440p monitor my 570 just cant keep up as well as I'd like.

What do you guys reccomend? 780, 780ti, or maybe wait for a 290X with better cooling?

Thanks!

I'm using a GTX 780ti to power a 2560*1600 monitor and it is doing an amazing job. Excellent frame rates and utterly quiet!
Nvidia's current air cooler is amazing.

A 780 or 780ti gets my vote

290 with custom cooling is the way to go. in the next 2 - 4 weeks we can expect these cards. gibbo of ocuk says early jan . kyle of hardocp says mid-dec.

"Update: Based on your feedback, I took the IceQ X2 cooler off the HIS Radeon R9 280X and stuck it on our R9 290 sample. Cooling was dramatically improved. The FurMark stress test maxed out at 76 degrees while the card never exceeded 63 degrees in Crysis 3 and Battlefield 4. So it seems as expected the board partners will be able to solve the heat issues of the reference card."

the asus dcii or his iceq x2 are definitely worth waiting for.
