Wish i could de-lid my i7 3770k. Dont have a vice lying around and do not want to razor it.

Whats your PLL at? Around that clock/voltage I was able to drop mine down to ~1.71 I think... helps cut some heat out

what heatsink are you using?

i used to be 4.7 @ 1.315 and i never hit 90 degrees in prime, my hottest core was 85, the rest high 70s

I'm Using a Antec Kuhler 920 which performs great. It's just my ambient temperatures are really high (29-33 deg Celsius (can be higher)).

My pll voltage is already lowered to 1.68V which did reduce the temps a bit.

I also may just have a bad cpu. My highest core is core 1 and 3 (0,1,2,3) and the other two are lower by 10 degrees. (badly spread tim?)

Thus why i want to delid asap. Anyway, I run daily with 4.5gh at stock voltage Just running at lower temps are reassuring.

Those were my hottest two cores as well, much more even after delid. I'm under a rasa kit, so get a bit more help in the temp area but was running where you are before I got that... was able to hit 4.9 eventually after getting a real loop though (if you're comfortable throwing a bit more voltage through it anyhow wink.gif )

Not true! there is a thread here with people pumping 1.5v and nothing has happened to their chips after a year of that vcore.

Wondering if its worth delidding or not, really would like to drop temps and pretty comfortable with the vice method... so just looking for advice on DO IT! DONT DO IT! pre game jitters thumb.gif

Have the CLP and a vice. ..

Your using yate loon cooling?

CLU is cooler than CLP

Mine is sitting at 1,5V PLL. But the difference in temp seems to be nothing.
Maybe its different with new batches?
