Lot of work this week-end. Daz order is coming monday. The new 290 coming thuesday. I have to change the wire configuration for the Corsair as it is not the same pin out at the PSU.Change the thermal pad on the first 290 for Fujipoli Extreme. Unsolder a DVI port and cut the I/O bracket to make it single slot.Remake all the plumbing for the ram block, the second radiator and the XFire. Lot of fun coming.

Changing the wires order in the connectors in the Corsair, done. Molex, SATA and 24 pins are not in the same position in the connectors as the XFX..

Beginning the plumbing in the ground floor.

Finally here it is . Only have to install the waterblock and drop it in the Killer.

First we have to separate the stock cooler from the board.

Cleaning rams and die with Acticlean.

img_0327.jpg

Fixing thermal pads Fujipoli Extreme on the vrm and Gelid CG Supreme on the rams.

img_0328.jpg

Placing the same thermal pads on the backplate.

img_0329.jpg

Final assembly.

And tomorrow, in the Killer.

Too bad! I broke an acrylic tube flush to the C48.I tried to take it out but I'm tired of playing with that so I ordered more fittings from Daz. Meanwhile I put a flexible tube and I will change it later. I want to see it running.

That's what a XFire of 290 on a M-atx board in a M-itx case looks like.

And now, filling it up and leak test.

Big trouble. Between the video card, the sli water connector was 2 C48, the mini type. I HATE THEM. There was a leak but I did not see it yesterday. When I finished to fill it yesterday, I did not start anything and go to bed.
This morning there is a large green amount of water all over the desk , on the motherboard ... I take everything apart and will have to wait for my fitting from Daz.

Finally the board is dead.

R.I.P.

I checked the CPU and the ram on daughter's rig and everything runs fine.
Time to RMA.
