I pull over 1100w with two high clocked 290x and cpu at 5ghz just running firestrike extreme. Since I use two psu, the two cards are on the same psu at the cpu and nothing else is connected to that psu.

He said nothing about overvolting his cards

If he is not going to overvolt then he dont need more then a 700 watts PSU

What clocks?

Running my 290x at 1100/1350 with a fx-9590.. aka a fairly power hungry system. Running an 850w Hale-82 PSU now, but figure with what you said alone, I'd not date slap another 290x in here.

That was at 1300/1600 with cpu at 5ghz w/o nothing else attached, ie. no drives, fans, etc.

Here is the same setup at stock gpu clocks. PPL telling you to run cfx 290x on puny psus, shakes head...

Thanks, appreciate the info. Have a CLC on my 9590, 4 drives, tons of fans, 290x, etc. so no Crossfire for me until a psu upgrade (and will probably swap to a new cpu by the time I need the extra power anyways since i'm at 1080p as is.)
