Radeon 6990 Full Replacement Thermal Pads set?

Hi guys,

I recently acquired a used Sapphire Radeon 6990 that was previously water blocked and the owner included the original Saphire air-cooled heatsink.

So, I applied some fresh Antec Formula 7 Nano Diamond Thermal Compound to each GPU and used some generic StarTech "heatsink Thermal Pads" on the memory and that other square chip that originally had a thermal pad. My concern is these StarTech thermal pads seem at least 1/2 as thick (or less) compared to the original and worse, the card is missing thermal pads for all the vrm's.

Does anyone know where I can buy replacement thermal pads for this Sapphire Radeon 6990 video card that are the correct thickness? Even if aftermarket thermal adhesive tape (aka "pads") exist that provide better thermal transfer is fine by me as long as they're the correct thickness. thumb.gif

I did some searching and found this thread:
EK6990 Thermal Pads? Help pls!

Apparently in the EK waterblock manual it states the pads need to be 0.5mm thickness.

So any kind of aftermarket thermal pads/tape with that thickness should work.

So you could try something like this:
EK Water Block Replacement Thermal PAD A 0.5mm
Perhaps by multiple of those strips to make sure you have enough to place on all the parts needed

They look decent but im no expert on this area, perhaps you can find some reviews online that compare these thermal pads.

all i can advise is to look for pads with the highest ''W/mK'' Rating, meaning they have the best heat transfer.
