Problems with ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB

Hello, I purchased an ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB a couple of months ago. I was primarily using it to mine litecoins. I wasn't having any problems with it until recently when one of the 2 GPUS in the graphics cards began to not be recognized by the computer. I ran MSI Afterburner and looked under Catalyst Control Center and it would only see 1 GPU even though there should be 2. Sometimes restarting the computer fixes this, but I'm wondering if theres anything I can do or troubleshoot to fix this problem. Would baking it help even though the card technically isn't bricked?

Pretty common with these cards you can take the card apart to see if anything fried.. how hot did they typically run and for how long? Some may suggest to bake it.

The weird part was that I was running the fan speed at 75% whenever I would mine and always tried to keep the temperature around 70 degrees Celsius.
