I have the older e4 version memory controller and I heard that it will not work with 4 sticks of ram, is it all ram or just certain brands?

It will work with 4 sticks, you will just have to loosen up your ram timings more. For the most part all 939 chips do not play well when all ram slots are filled. For best performance (ie, lowest timings) it is best to stay with two sticks of ram. However, any 939 processor will work with 4 sticks of ram assuming there are no incompatibilities between hardware, just with a performance penalty in most cases.

They will run at 2T, and some motherboards will force them to run at DDR333.
