[guru3d]ASRock Z87 Fatal1ty Killer Motherboard Review - Page 2

I like the looks, but the Name had me confused. I thought fatal1ty meant death. Name seems kinda repetitive. Never knew Asrock used such great onboard audio. Will have to check this out in greater detail. thumb.gif

an improved and enhanced audio solution based off the Realtek ALC 1150 codec.

Well, just another ALC898. Also I'd rather have an Intel for the NIC. I wonder what MOSFETs they have in here.

Great price otherwise. I like the fact that good onboard audio with AMP is becoming the standard (cause yea, codec isn't everything).

My first board was AS Rock 7 years ago, I think this will be my 2nd...maybe a better overclocker than my MSI board, Tri-fire which I wil probably do around Christmas and a headphone amp, all win.

I just bought this today on the egg, with a coupon code i paid $100, and when i get my 4770K this week from IRE for $114, i will have spent about $240 or so total for a nice x-mas upgrade. I can't even begin to express how excited i am for both!

What happened to VRM heatsink? Or is it not necessary?

The gold caps just kill the look of these mobo's IMO.

Good mobo for the budget gamer but I can't see myself ever buying 1.
