Case recommendation... - Page 2

The NZXT Switch 810 case will hold anything you throw at it (air or water), and are easily modded if you so desire. Normally they are $169, but today (maybe a little longer), they are on sale from NZXT for just $99.

Opps, I saw the budget, sorry. Nevermind.

They have a nice sleek design (that i personally love) that makes them look like a computer case and not an alien turd. has plenty of fan mounting options as well as a few for watercooling, and you can cram all kinds of parts in this guy, not to mention it has a window so you can look at all your pretty parts!

either that or a highe rend corsair case.....

Hope this helps! thumb.gif

I drove out to Newegg Will Call this afternoon to pick up my new PSU and GPU, and got to talk with a guy there who gave me some good info.. and along with that, I realized I had to increase my budget. Then I drove over to Fry's and looked at some of the great cases around these days, including the Corsair Vengeance in Army Green -- that's the one I'd love to have, but won't spend the $$ on it. And that Corsair Air 540 is a wicked beast, too! I saw another one that had been two distinct areas, top, and bottom, the bottom for cooling, and the top for PSU, video card, etc. but I can't remember the name and it was out of my price range anyway.

I am leaning towards these, in this order, too:

  1. Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 -- what a deal that is, more than 50% off (someone please confirm this is indeed the recommended case! but also considering:
  2. Corsair Carbide 500R, as well as the lesser than 400R...
  3. Corsair Vengeance C70 Military Green, this is just a dream... and represents a much better designed and built case than the ...
  4. "also-ran" Antec version of the military sturdy system, the Black and Green Military GX700.

Yes, I think I'm about to pull the trigger on the Arc Midi... just want to check out some build logs of them...

thanks everybody!

PS -- Dang! Just logged on to the Cooler Master store and they are offering the (rerfurbished) HAF XB Lanbox and Test Bench (that big awesome cube) for $49.99, ... tempting...
