Incomming rig

Thread Starter
Hey, I finally decided to buy a mining rig after months and months of contemplating crypto currencies. Let the insomnia begin.

Here is what I got :

  • GPU : 3 x R9-280X
  • Motherboard : 990FX-UD3
  • CPU : FX-4130
  • Powersupply : 1000W
  • SSD : Kingston 32 Gb
  • RAM : Cheap 2 Gb

Any recommended Linux OS?

I'd just recommend running a USB stick with Ubuntu loaded on it, an 8GB stick should work great. Install your AMD drivers and your mining software and you should be good to go!

Use SMOS for litecoin mining on linux

http://www.smos-linux.org/

I don't use it because windows has voltage control though

I guess I am out of luck, my GPU went on back order...

Get 2 R9 290 instead? Better CF scaling, better resale value, less power consumption. The trade off is slightly less KH/s.
