Gift a friend on facebook a steam game?

This might be silly to some people, but I have not ever done this before. I am wanting to gift a friend on facebook a game (Surgeon Simulator 2013 for $2.50). LOL this person reenacts as a Civil War doctor and I thought this game would help him learn to stop amputating everyone! biggrin.gif
So for $2.50 I can send him a funny gift. I don't think he is very computer savvy, is there a way I can do this so it is easy for him to understand how to download it?
thanks!

Best way would be to create a steam account for him buy it on that account and then use teamviewer to download it for him.

Hmm interesting, umm he does not live in my area. I only see him at reenactments and on Facebook. So I'm not sure this will work....

Basically I can only reach him through facebook. I just thought it would be cool if I could send him the game link somehow and he can download it for free? Not sure if that is possible.

OK, I am looking into this now. I honestly never heard of teamviewer. I have only used steam to buy my own stuff and never even look back. Technology and stuff moves so damn fast, and I have so little time left! I am getting old! I better start planning on getting a smart walking cane soon. redface.gif
thank you smile.gif

Just have him create a steam account and gift it to him. Or if you're buying the game from a 3rd party store, just send him the code.

I mean, it's a bit weird buying a game and going through all this trouble for someone you don't even know. The guy probably doesn't even have a good enough computer to run the game you are gonna have to go through all this trouble to get it running for him even though he probably doesn't have any interest in it.

Not trying to be mean or anything, i'm just saying is it worth all the hassle?

Well, I thought it was fun, he laughed and said thank you. He said he would give it a try, it is right up his ally for the morbid humor he has. biggrin.gif
