Can I still connect my U2711 and switch to it when I'm not using this? Currently I have a 290x. Thanks!

What exactly does that mean "at a good price"? As far as I know the only place selling this panel is Dell's website at retail price.

Well, I guess good price is subjective. I have had my U2711 for a long time, so I guess it has paid off. I bought it from Dell for $1134.

it has scalar, but only works in SST mode. Full 4k 60hz only works on Displayport 1.2 MST which Dell disabled by default. you have to go through the OSD like this:

Menu -> display settings -> Displayport 1.2 -> Enable.

HDMI works but only 30 HZ in 4k. the AG coat is very clear, it's not obtrusive at all and i can still read the tiniest texts fine.

It is two 1920x2160 panels conjoined by two timing controllers to make a tiled 4k, because as of now there are no timing controllers than can do full 4k 60hz.

The change is 0_0 WOW, it is a big change, especially the details in the distances you see in games. 1440p is only a small rectangle in the middle of the 4k screen. 8 megapixels within a 24 inch panel makes AA redundant, i can't tell no AA from 8xMSAA.

You still can connect your 1440p monitors with this one, just be aware that 1440p will look big app-wise to 4k because of the sheer amount of pixels in 4k, making all apps very small because they are still stuck at old display sizes.

Also, HOW did you get it for $1100? I got this full price, drat.

Hmm interesting, not sure how you managed to get it at 1100 with the coupon apparently having expired, but more power to you. I was thinking about applying for a preferred account and ordering one of these, but it says they won't even ship out till the 22nd anyways for me. I think I will just wait and see if by some miracle the 28 inch is not actually locked to 30hz at 4k.

Sorry for my noobness. I guess we are all new to 4k wink.gif. So can the scalar at 1080 work at 60 Hz in SST mode? I wonder how fast AMD and Nvidia will update the drivers for scalar in MST. Have you noticed any input lag in games? I figured AA would be useless at this resolution. I'll probably turn off the other monitors while I run this one. I am excited! As for the $1100, Dell is always good about negotiating. It just takes a couple tries to find the right rep. The bonus 5% cash back on top of it even brought it down into the $1000 range.

No idea on input lag, there is 8ms gray-to-gray on this one though.

Yea it's supposed to be GPU scaling for AMD and Nvidia cards, no idea how they will do it in MST mode.

SST mode works fine for scalar purposes in 60 hz except 4k 60hz as said before.

I am still jealous of your cash savings. tongue.gif

Would you happen to know if OS X Mavericks would allow you to use "retina" resolution with their hi dpi? I'm tempted to connect my rMBP for my productivity on this too. Haha, at the end of the day... you have your monitor right now and have been enjoying it!

As I heard so far, Apple keeps a list of 4k monitors that they got working. The Sharp and Asus 31 inch do work, but Dell 4k doesn't work yet.
It has to do with the pesky MST mode apparently.
Windows 7 has best support of 4k tiled monitors so far.
