Is this a "golden chip"?

Thread Starter
Hello everyone,

I'm new to overclocking Haswell but from my results so far I'm happy with what I have. I'm reading of people struggling to get to 4.5ghz with under 1.3 vcore. I've got mine running and passing burn tests at 4.5 with 1.2v and no delid(which I plan on doing when my Liquid pro turns up). I'm not seeing temps over 90c with my liquid cooling system on the CPU and vrm. How much further do you think I can take it?

It's not a bad chip, but not golden. If it boots in at 5ghz 4C 8T under 1.3v then I'd consider it golden chip.

My 3770K can do that as well, undelidded. tongue.gif
Edit: Is it just me or I see that your vcore in CPU-Z is 1.76V?? I know the one that's in HWMonitor is 1.2V though.

Decent, not golden

Don't use IBT w/ avx to stability test

CPU-Z reads the input voltage if I'm correct its set for 1.2v
post #6 of 6
CPU-Z reads VID which is 1.2v You're actual vcore is what HWM is showing under IA which is 1.226v. thumb.gif
