Looking for a laptop, newbie

Thread Starter
Hey, so I am in the market for a new laptop, at the moment I have found the Asus V3-772G (8 Gb RAM, 1TB HDD, GTX 760, Intel i7-4702MQ, 17.3" IPS screen) it cost about 1180$. But because I am new to this I know this is not the best offer, so I am wondering would people have suggestions the cost up to 1200$ that are better then this one, keep in mind the shipping fees, I live in Eastern Europe. Also, what is the importance of the IPS screen or the FHD screen, how are they different, or better than each other. I mainly want a laptop for gaming, if it's good for gaming it'll do work work as well. Thanks, have a nice day.

WHen buying laptops specs are important but don't get to excited. Since iv'e got no clue as to where you live or what dealers you have I can't be specific but this is how it usually is:

You'll find MSI and ASUS offerings that are close or even exactly the same priced at the same amount with different looks. The only real movement in price is hinged on sales and specials offers.
The computer you've choosen will do fine but the real question is wether it's warranty is better than other offerings on the market. Better warranty with good enough specs is preferable to better specs with bad warranty.

IPS is a type of LCD panel technology that has better viewing angles and color gamut (range of colors that a display can show) than typical LCD panels (TN or twisted nematic). The downside is that IPS is usually more expensive than TN to produce and requires a stronger back light (drains battery life faster) to achieve the same brightness.

In general, IPS offers better image quality than TN

FHD or full HD gives you more space to work with on your desktop. Basically, you can display more applications at the same time (side by side) and not need to scroll as much while web browsing (as compared to 1366x768 or 1600x900).
