It also shows in the lower resolution results how overplayed it is that the 770 doesn't have enough memory bandwidth as it beats the 280x in most of those games at 2560 x 1440.
By the way about the 770 memory usage on BF4, I've been playing on a friends 4GB 770 and I've seen it hit just over 2300MB at the most on 64 player maps while still averaging over 60fps on Ultra with 2xMSAA and 120% resolution scaling. So whether it is allocating that or properly using it, it does go over 2GB and if you are going to get a 770 I'd recommend a 4GB model as it can hit more than 2GB while remaining playable (which a lot of us knew anyways).
I know they are not playable but ifbyou see the higher the resolution the smaller the gap due to mem bottle neck.
Wanted to show that if he ever goes 4k in a couple of years memory will be an bigger issue with a 770 sli vs 280x xfire.
Either way i agree with you hes better with a 290 or 760ti or titan.
Now really wanted to show that future games will eat more mem. Which would make 7960/280x. A wiser option today since hes also interested in mantle.
By the time 4k. Hits the avg consumer, it will be time for him to replace the card anyways.
