Asus Rampage iv extreme want to hot wire my gtx 680s

So i tweaked and tweaked my afterburner settings to the max. As a matter of fact i have set my vore coltage all the way up to +100 mV and i have power limit maxed @ 132%. Its very lame even with all that maxed the best i have been is a measly 215mhz memory overclock and 78mhz core overclock. With out a mem oc i can get a max of 89mhz to the core. That just doesn't sound like much of an overclock to me. My temps are pretty good to. Hell bf4 maxed aside from res scale being @ 150% and msaa @ 2x temps top out at or around 58.c. So i know i got some head room. From my understand this cards had a safety feature that mad the cards unable to be overvoltaged much or at all. I heard that some were on here ages ago. Anyways i see that there is a way to hot wire my cards to the motherboard allow a bit of overvoltage. I have 2 gtx 680 twin frozr III with 4gbs of v.ram. Is it possible to take advantage of this hot wire feature in the asus bios. If so is it hard to do, safe, and what kind of boost do you think i can get before it because hard on my cards. I would love a good 200mhz or more to the core clock along with a heft mem overclock. God knows my poopy 680s have dog crap memory bandwidth. God with i would have held onto my 570 for just a little longer. These cards are great but i love to overclock stuff and i am not happy with my gpu overclock what so ever. One last thing do new nvidia cards suffer from this stupid voltage limit stuff. Its my choice if i want to set fire to my cards. I know how to watch temps and take my time with overclocking so i know i can handle the ability to over-volt my cards Any video or guides on doing this hot wire thingy would be awesome.
P.S. sorry for such a long post

not to discourage you as this is my thread here

http://www.overclock.net/t/1409611/asus-gtx-770-dcuii-with-maximus-v-extreme-hotwire/0_20

and the guide to use your board as the potentiometer

http://www.overclock.net/t/1249192/msi-gtx-680-twin-frozr-iii-bench-review-not-boring/0_20

I would personally upgrade GPU as it will net you 25%+ STABLE gains without OC where as overclocking your current cards will get you maybe 10%-15%STABLE gains if you are on water.

thanks for the reply but i may go a new route. one i discovered last night. Bios Flash... What do you think. I have good air flow in the case and my temps rarely exceed 60.c under heavy load(super moded skyrim and bf4 maxed besides res sale @ 150%). I think with those temps i can handle the next step up in voltage. via bios flash. Only thing i am uncertain about is how well it works with sli. I am holding onto these cards until next gen. Not sure why haven't skipped a gen in 4 years but these 680s have held me off better than any of my previous cards have. I also plan to go 3way sli next build so need a bit more time for saving lol.

you are right there is a bios mod that should get you to 1.212v I have done it with my friends GTX 680 Gigabyte it is the best option thumb.gif
I was under the impression that MSI were already unlocked to 1.212v via MSI AB

well sadly thats not the case but i will be doing this. I will only have to hold onto these cards for a year at most before i jump on either sli titan ultras or sli gtx 880s depending on the 880s v.ram. I need large amounts of v.ram for modded skyrim/ bf4 maxed and i am getting a 1440p monitor very soon. I may end up trying to go 3 way with my 1440p monitor if 3 or 4 way 880s or titan ultras will push them in very demanding games. Lastly tho if my sli 680s with the bios flash can keep a good 50-60 fps on bf4 on my 1440p then i may just hold out another gen. I got 1000$ warped up in these cards so if i can hold out a bit longer for an even larger performance boost i will do so. LOL thats the bad thing. since i went sli i really cant justify a gpu upgrade unless i get 2 top notch cards or wait a good few gens.
