Need help with a new psu

Thread Starter
I am planning on building a new rig, it will be a 4670k and maybe a mid range gpu(gtx 660 or a 270x), a ssd and one or two harddrives.

Will this psu be enough to handle some oc on the 4670k and on the gpu or should i look for something higher?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182066

Also i have a question regarding my actual psu(Antec EarthWatts 650), the ON/OFF switch stopped working, it just stay on the ON side, if i try to put it on OFF it just go back to ON, is this something to worry about? the system seems to be the same, i can stress the gpu/cpu without trouble.

Thanks thumb.gif

Should be just fine. 4670K and a mid-range GPU will be no problem for 450W PSU.

Not sure about your power issue. If the PSU turns itself on with the MOTHERBOARD ATX power connector disconnected, then I'd say the PSU is defective. I -have- seen some motherboards that will automatically power the system back up after shutting down though, sometimes it's a problem with power management settings in the BIOS/UEFI, sometimes bad motherboard, sometimes it's the PSU. Hard to pin it down.

The PSU work as usual, i am talking about the ON/OFF switch on the back of the unit, i cant put it on OFF mode, it will just go back to ON.

That's just a broken switch...if it's always ON then shouldn't be an issue. Replacing it wouldn't be hard for anyone with solder skills, but only worth it if it's an otherwise good unit.
