Question regarding to GENTLE TYPHOON AP-15? Can i controll its Speed with this?

I'm goin to give a try to Gentle Typhoon AP-15 since many persons have recommended those one to make my Corsair H100i a bit more quitest without increase temps.

My question is: Can i plug this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812123298

into this:

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/10323/

to be controlled by this:

Yes, just do not expect any kind of PWM control, if the fan controller supports it. My own fan controller (Sunbeam Rheosmart 3) only has three channels/knobs to control fans, but with Y-splitters i'm managing to use 4 fans per channel/knob (bottom rad fans, top rad+front case fan, back case fan+side door fans)

Is 28dBa too loud, really?

For the AIO, Just get the two/four AP-14's at 21dBA, and close to the same static as the AP-15's.

Unless ya got a Zillion fans, I dont see the point of a fan controller, vs a set of solid quieter fans, and if need be, run fans on a molex to 3/4pin.

Also, ya wont see much of a diff 240mm vs a 120mm AIO, just throwing ur cash away....

Keep it simple......

For some people, it is. Hell, even if i don't mind four Panaflo 38mm fans going full tilt, i appreciate at times a silent PC.

If you are not gonna game, just watch a movie or letting it run overnight doing something that isn't too demanding like downloading a huge steam game, wouldn't you like to tone down your fans? I prefer having power and controlling it, than running as silent as i want but then wishing i could get more cooling power on summer/when changing CPU's/while doing any distributed computing/anything else that taxes the CPU. Plus, as the tasks are not-so-demanding, the CPU will be idling quite a lot.

That's the problem, my Pc sitting over my desk rigth in my ear - distance 0.5 mts -. For me it's imperative to control the fans, goin louder (not much!) only when i'm gamming but goin really really quieter when i'm webrowsing - Office - Movies. According to reviews, Gentle Typhoon is at least 10 Decibels quiter than Corsair but has not PWM.

However, i wonder are those GT at full speed bereable in any way if you are sitting very next to them?

My GT's are more silent than the fans Corsair provides with their AIO's, and mine spin at 2150 RPM (faster than the AP-15's). They also do not get whiny at all when undervolted. My water pump is more noisy when only two of those fans are on, but when i turn the other 6 the sound is bearable and my music drowns it, so there's no problem.

My computer is right next to my legs, same 0.5 mts distance, but coming from under my face, that might help with noise levels, but i got nothing but praises for GT's (and my front TY-140).

So you say GTs basicly don't need to be controlled unlike H100i? Certenly i have to admit those SP120L (H100i stock) even at 60% of speed are annoying, even at that speed they rrrrsssssummzzzzz ... i don't know how to express, i would love to find a good replacement for this sound but without compromise perfomance.

What other fans would you recommend as Case front panel Fan? I have an SLI GTX 780 pretty hots.

You can control GT's, in fact i recommend it if you're not playing, but they can be more silent than other fans. I have not personally owned any of the more recent Corsair fans, but i'm well versed on the oldest fans (the black no-name fans witrh the old H50 and H70) along with other noisy fans and a friend has an H100 (non-i) and i compared the stock fans to the GT's, and it was like day and night.

Other good, silent but expensive fans are Noctuas, Noiseblockers and some Thermalright fans. I replaced the front case fan (a no-name Coolermaster) with my TY-140, and in summer i add a couple Noctuas to the side door as intake.

You are overspending for your Y-cable, and paying for shipping.

For $2.99, this lasted me for hundreds of fan changes. And SVC used to send them for no added cost. Hmm.
