Would my 990FXA-UD3 (rev.4.0) MOBO be able to run TridentX 2400MHz ram?

Thread Starter
I was curious, as I bought the ram before the MOBO (and I wish to use this mobo), and the guy at Canadcomputers told me it would be fine, but on Gigabytes site, it says it supports up to 2000MHz ram, and the tridents are 2400?

The MOBO is located here
http://ca.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4672#ov
and here is the RAM in question
http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-2400c10d-16gtx
Please and thanks if anyone could help!

RAM does not have to operate at what it's spec'ed for, it can operate at lower speeds. That being said, the RAM will work, but whether or not it will support it at 2400MHz is a different question.

Short answer: yes
Long answer: use manual settings to set RAM multiplier to 12.00 (x200 = 2400). No FSB changes are necessary to run 2400 with the UD3 as long as you are using a recent BIOS version. You may still need to set timings manually depending if the XMP is detected.
