New psu came with fused 10amp plug, but not compatible

hi,

today i bought an antec HCP 1200. I live in China, but the power cord for the psu comes with what looks like a USA or UK wall outlet connection. The plug seems to be 'fused' and have a 10amp fuse in it. It's rated 10amp, 250w. I can't fit this plug into my wall outlet.

Is it ok to use a spare power chord that i have from another psu (not fused, but it says 10A and 250W on it) with this psu? Or could this damage the psu. Thanks for advice.

It's a rather expensive psu, so I don't want to destroy it or burn my house down biggrin.gif

Why buy a 1200 watts for a system that does not even use half that?

Just asking

I doubt the cable is 'fused'. '10A' is the cable amperage rating (10 amperes max), '250V' is the cable voltage rating (250 volts max).

Perfectly OK, both cables are same rating.

It's perfectly safe to substitute a power cord that has no fuse in it because the Antec contains an internal fuse.

the power chord plug actually has a real fuse in it, it's visible...

thus far it's working fine with a substitute power cable.

This rig will have 2x HD7950 and 2x r9 280x, so 1200w is necessary, hopefully a quality psu like this can handle that gpu combo.
