Assuming your brother's computer meets all of the requirements for a multi-GPU configuration (PSU, PCIE, airflow) just install it in the next available mechanical 16x slot like you would any other GPU. Once installed, head to the Nvidia control panel and hit the "Set PhysX Configuration" tab, and select the GTX460 as the primary PhysX adapter. This is all assuming your brother is already running an Nvidia solution. If not there's a tutorial page for AMD solutions somewhere on the forum; the thread is here however you will quickly see that it is out of date and I'm unaware of a current hack for it.

If you need any further help, please list your brother's current computer configuration so we can provide more accurate instructions.

I actually am not gonig to continue with this idea. Mainly because the benefit of this will be small - but i did attempt to do this, the issue i came across is that the 460 was not recognized in the nvidia control panel so i am considering selling thsi 460 SE and just grabbing him a used 560 Ti as sli or maybe sell the two cards and get him a use 760 GTX

That's the best decision, as the selection of PhysX games that can benefit from a dedicated card is tiny. However I'm surprised that it wasnt detected in the NCP.
