I had a P8400 laptop. You need a compatible motherboard that allows you to overclock it. Mine wasn't SetFSB compatible. You will not be able to overclock it much anyway because you need to have access to settings that increase your overclocking headroom, notably voltages.

I have done some work with SetFSB before and on one of my systems (a P4 desktop) I remember it made everything run faster/hyper, aka not the intended result. The audio was a higher pitch, games played at faster speeds, and I got a lot of instability from my applications.
