Single Card Solution to Replace 3-way SLI GTX470s?

Hey guys,
I am looking to upgrade to a custom water cooling loop in my main rig, and I decided while I have my rig all torn apart, is it that time to upgrade my GPUs? Now I currently have 3 GTX 470's running 3 monitors at 1920x1080 each. I am wondering is there any single card I can upgrade and see a real increase in performance keeping in mind I run 3 displays? Thanks for the help!

Running 3-monitors off of a single card would be possible with the latest 290x's or 780ti's, but in terms of actual gameplay, you would still have to sacrifice IQ on a single card as 3-monitors are still quite demanding. I'm assuming you are accustomed to running latest games at lower level of details and AA, which you'd have to use with these top tier cards as well. I would just suggest that you go with either CFX or SLI with 2 cards as they would be aplenty to drive that resolution. OT, i'd get 290x as they have more Vram than the GTX counterparts and are comparatively cheaper, but we have news that a 6GB 780ti is in works and we could wait for reviews to come in.

I agree with Huzzug in every way. One thing I would say is if your current setup is working, just keep it until it doesn't. By then even more powerful cards will be available. You could build up the watercooling for the cpu and then drop in gpu's later.

If you do decide to upgrade there are lots of gpu's with waterblocks for sale on OCN - there is even a R9 290X already!

For 3 x 1080p, I would either go with SLI titan or CF 290/290x WCed.

Ok, I'm thinking 2 of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130945. What are your thoughts?

For 400$, I'd get 2 R9 290's that would smoke this SLI configuration. I'm at work so can't post any links, but i guess 2 290's in CFX would cost a few $ more, but would be a better investment. The only problem i see with that 770, is that it has the VRAM, but will be limited by the MemBus, which would be required to drive the resolution that you are planning to run. If you want something within this budget, I'd. Rather get the 7970's or the 280X.
