Help setting up Marvell Raid 0 (please) on ASUS P9X79 Pro

Hey everyone... computer noob here. I'm having a difficult time setting up a Raid 0 configuration. I'v tried a done of different things I thought were common sense... but i'm not getting anywhere... so I must be missing something.

I want to setup a RAID 0 with 2x Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB drives. They are identical drives. I have them plugged into the Marvell controller on my mobo.

Specs:
ASUS P9X79 Pro
i7 3930K
Samsung 840 128GB for OS
2 x Sandisk Ultra Plus 256GB
Windows 8.1

Ive gone to ASUS driver download page and installed literally every driver and utility available. I've also updated to BIOS to thel atest version.

The issue is.. when it prompts me to hit Ctrl+m to setup the RAid... nothing happens. It just goes straight to Windows. It never enters the Marvell Raid config utility.

Inside the BIOS.. I tried going to Sata configuration and changing it to Raid. This gives a prompt to do the Intel RST raid config... but I dont ant to do Intel (i think).. i hear that 1) Marvell is now faster finally and 2) I have the SSDs plugged into the Marvell controller, so i would think it would make sense to do the Marvell Raid. However... I even tried to setup it up via Intel RST and pressing Ctrl+i when it prompted me and still nothing happened.

I've tried turning on/off S.M.A.R.T Check... nothing.

ctrl+m is just not working for me.

I'm sure there's something i'm missing.. but internet searches havent yield much information for me. With me being new... maybe i'm just not plugging in the correct keywords. I couldnt find any additional drivers i may have missed... and the instructions i found just aren't working for me.

I kow this isnt one of the busiest parts of the forum... but if anyone could help me i'd really appreciate it. I posted here to try to comply with the forum setup haha... but i'm nervous that nobody even looks here much! frown.gif

Also... FYI..... i'm aware of the risks of Raid 0. I'm very comfortable with it. This is my music production computer.... and I plan for this Raid config to only be drive to hold/read my sample libraries from for music. my system drive will remain a single drive (the samsung 840 Pro).
