Upgrade Help

Hey Guys,
I recently ordered a GTX 770 and cancelled the order because I think I will be getting a R9-290 because of the better rating and benchmarks. The difference in cost is really not to bad but the quality of the product stands to be substantial enough to make the change. My question is should I upgrade my CPU/Motherboard and Ram? or should I just stick with my system for another year or two and just upgrade the GPU? I am currently about to install a 256GB SSD so that should help my overall computer performance. Would the move from a i7-950 to a 77-4770k be a huge difference? I think the GPU would be my best bet but wanted you guys(the pros) to help me out.

Simple answer no. Haswell-e might be worth it but you already have a beast cpu. I suggest buying a 50-100$ cooler and a aftermarket cooler for your r290. Your board is one of the better ones as well so just watch thevrm and other board temps as x58 seems to get hot.
