I'm using HIS iTurbo to overclock, and with +218mv offset, I hit 1250 on the core and 1783 on the memory. There's a lot of room left, but the VRM's were getting kinda toasty, so I shut it down.

The aquacomputer waterblock and back plate come in tomorrow.

Pretty darn good there...

Have you run FS Ultra yet? Curious what you get with your 8 gb card there...

I haven't played around too much just yet, so, no FS Ultra runs. Just initial baseline setting. Block comes in today, and I'll push it some more with the stock bios. Then I'll put some effort into researching a modded bios, and flesh out my options there.

Check out PT1 bios: can get it in the OP or here https://www.kingpincooling.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2473

PT3 works too but not much difference in the end (believe me ive tried as have others).

PT1 has no clock tables - it runs in full 3d clocks at all times. As long as you have good vrm cooling (which you will) its darn good for benching. I even run it for gaming too.

I've heard some off color things about the PT1 bios.....I may just research as much as possible and try to make one that isn't so invasive, but still allows for better voltages and clocks. There's gotta be a way to have the best of both worlds.....

Yeah, I struggled with it for a while back on windows 7 and 8.1. Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems to work well now with the latest beta drivers. For example, I could run a bench at identical clocks on both stock and PT1 bios previously, and get a worse score with PT1. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

This run was on stock (reference) 290x bios at 1200/1500, 15.2 drivers: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7273003

And this run was on PT1 bios at 1200/1500, 16.1 drivers: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7276173

Pretty much margin of error there. And the charts from both runs show similar if not identical GPU usage.

To me PT1 provides stability although I could be wrong. If the cooling is there, it will let you get higher. But, mind you, at +200mV/1200/1500 my card will draw about 380 watts. eek.gifdevil.gif

Heh my highest score runs was on a modded pt bios at 1350/1690 +375mv...the voltage was high to say the least. But i haven't had a single problem yet. But when i'm benching i usually have the window fully open next to the pc (~ -5 outside)

What's a "tessellation tweak"? I don't want to run high scores by spoofing anything......

Very nice... That's certainly pushing the limits.

I haven't gone that far in a while. I'm slowly getting back in to the OC scene myself.

It isn't spoofing anything, there's a long discussion on tess and it's effects. If you poke around the benchmarking threads you will see, but most of the charts take scores on AMD cards with the tess off. Perhaps someone can provide a better explanation

You can turn off tessellation in the driver settings. It is a allowed tweak on hwbot. It gives alot more points, but I usally prefer to have my score valid and with default settings.

Well, the score with the newest driver isn't "accepted" anyway, but.....yeah, if that's what "tessellation tweaks" are, I'll not have any of it.
