Well, you may be right, seems that even if "apply OC on startup" is not checked in msi AB, frequency remains the same as when you shut down computer but voltages are reset.

When i check it, i still have the lines or even moving screen that prevents from using mouse, but only during few seconds, may be there should be a way to force AB to apply settings faster ? (if i set 1600MHz i have a black screen)
Or should i force constant voltages ?

Also, if i could access 2d/3d profils in AB i think i would completly fix if, but i guess it is not avalaible for R9 290 ?
Yes, that's crimson doing. If you warm boot, voltages & clocks remembered but when cold boot, voltages resets but clocks remembered.

When you checked "apply OC on startup in AB, it will create a task in task scheduler. Set the task to delay start, e.g. 30 seconds. I suggest delay start because to allow AMD software to load first.

There's 2d/3d profile in AB but I've never use that.

So, even if i delay AB, if clocks are always remembered, i gonna have problems on cold boot unless i reset clocks each time i turn off computer ?

2d/3d profiles are not showing in AB frown.gif unless i have to enable some option or some skins ?

What you suggest ? edit bios to have higher voltage on boot ? stay with memory clock that supports default voltage ?

Also, would you know how to find, on techpowerup or elsewhere, bioses ?
On techpowereup seems that you can only retrieve verified bioses, for example you can find this list for sapphire :
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?manufacturer=Sapphire&model=R9+290

But the following one doesn't show :
http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/177566/177566.html
And this is bios that comes with a dual-x card (I would like to see if there are more recent bios for my card).

If you use AB to overclock, set AB to apply overclock at startup & you set delay to the AB task, it will remember both clocks & voltages.

If you didn't set AB to apply overclock at startup, then better go back to pre-crimson drivers. Pre-crimson drivers doesn't give you headache if you forgot to reset the clocks. I'm using 15.7.1 myself mainly because I'm testing multiple ROMs right now & also testing overclocking.

What is the MSI AB version? When you open the settings, profiles tab not shown because you need to scroll first. There's button on top-right corner you can use to scroll the available tabs.

If your overclock is stable, yes you can make an pre-overclocked BIOS. Take a look Making OC bios like factory pre OC'd card/ROM. If the information is too advanced, you can ask @gupsterg for help. What card you have there? Brand & whether it's referenced card or not? Nvm, found it.

I actualy have Sapphire R9 290 Tri-x (def freq 957MHz / 1250MHz) with Vapor-X bios (1030MHz / 1400MHz) and my overclock is +100mV +15% 1100MHz / 1400MHz
So you want it to run at 1100/1400 24/7? What is the max voltage you see in GPU-Z with +100mV 1100MHz / 1400MHz?

AB version : 4.2.0, profil tab exists but only provides hotkeys for profils 1-5, i remember, may be when i had gtx 760, below those hotkeys settings, i had seen 2d/3d profils.

On HWiNFO, with +100mV +50% +75mV 1100MHz 1400MHz, max voltage shows 1.314V, but this is stored when i launch OCCT, it is straight lowered to something around 1.18-1.2V with constant 1100MHz (i set max fps to 190 on OCCT if i don't want to have to high voltage on vrm 1
And no, i think i don't want to stay with +100mV because on games, gpu temp is more than 80, so i may lower to something like 50mV, but i think i could set better ram freq, if i can't, 1030/1400 is comfortable.

Gonna try again with AB and startup thing, setting delay to 30s as you said, i had understood that clocks would be stored by crimson and that only voltages would be applied after those 30sec, so i have misunderstood you.

Gonna have a look on the bios thing though, if it seems too advanced for me, i'll just give up.

Thanks for all infos.

Edit :
When i delay AB task to 30sec, i have 30s of blinking screen...
If i set it to 1sec, then screen is only blinking during few seconds (may be 2), though it is acceptable, i don't think it's a good idea.

Got my HIS 290 to 1170 core / 1600 mem with +94mv @ 70oC max
but the VRM temps got over 115C so I have to stop
how can you get over +100mv?

You don't want to. the vrm is already hot. but, if you insists, use Trixx.
