GameOS: Is it worth it? - Page 4

Honestly, I just choose a shell because it offers better visuals than XP (explorer.exe) does natively. However, I find that there is always something that drives me back to explorer...

Agreed. I've been in the desktop customization community for years. As much as I enjoy using and creating themes for litestep, sharpe, etc., I always end up going back to explorer and creating a new theme based around the visual style I use, which I usually also create.

It's shareware, so you can use it as long as you like but it bugs you to buy it at every boot.

I succesfully bumped Dynamic Shadows in BF2 up to Medium and took my CS:S resolution up to 1280x1024 from 1024x768. I say that's an improvement. SharpE FTW! (Although Blackbox is awesome on Linux, I'll have to see how the port works out.) How about alternate shell FTW!

Ha sounds good. Tell me what is the best when you find out!

For some reason, I hate uninstalling things. It makes me feel uncomfortable with my computer. Once I do, I usually have to reformat... It just.. never feels clean enough. OCD ftw!

Sighs. *btw, I just reformatted cause of the GAME OS. I didn't find it worth it*

Edit: CHIPP!?!?! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ALL FAMOUS CHIPP AVATAR?

I've lost my originals, again.... I'm trying to clean up the holiday version, but it's taking quite a while.... All those darned extra layers that are put on top of the animation...
