Heh why do people think sli is fun to play with? Its almost no different configuration wise, all you do is check a box in the nvidia drivers and it turns on sli and turns off one of your displays if you have more than 1 monitor. I get great performance out of my dual 7800's but then again I paid about the same amount of money for these paired as he is going to pay for dual 7300's.

Vmodd the 7600GT's. Hell, the benchies were stock 7600GT's vs some pretty high clocked 7300GT's.

Nothing to flash the 7300GT's to. You can edit the BIOS, but you can do that to a 7600GT too.

it's just something exotic and different. Overclocking is slightly more complex.

No if you have a real board you do it in the BIOS 1st...get that right

While two 7300GT's would be cool to look at, and play with....combined, they cost more than a single 7600GT and drain more power.

I'd get dual 7300GT's for an SLI-E-PENIS

when 7300GT paired it will hav 16pl while 7600GT has 12pl.

his budget only limits to 7600GT only.
The problem with the 2x 7300GT setup tho is bandwidth. Your going to have much less available when both cards are running and it usually means that 2 cards in SLI only give about a 170% performance boost over the single card wo/SLI. Also, in SLI, some mobo's PCI-e x16 slots only function at 8x.

Aswell as that, your gonna have to combat heat. If your card has passive heatsink, you'll need a fan to cool them, or 2 slot blowers to exhaust some of the hot air.

I know the benchies show that 2x7300GT > 7600GT, but the 7600GT is also a dream to OC, and has plenty of potential. With SLI, you have complications, and you won't be able to get the maximum performance out of the cards.

Also, the risk of one of the cards failing is greater, because you have 2 cards! Simple logistics - 2x the hardware = 2x the risk of failure!!! And thats even worse if your vmodding both cards!

Bear in mind that the 7300GT has only 128MB per card. This is also running at a lower clockspeed than the 7600GT's 256MB.

All in all, although the SLI option looks way cooler and is slightly better, the 7600GT offers less complications and near identical performance when overclocked.

Have a think about it. It may be slightly cheaper to get the 7300GT but be prepared for added complications as a result of your small saving.

PS - Begging for rep is against the rules! Fix your sig!
