4930K Can't set multiplier! (am I confused?) - Page 7

I had this problem on my x79-UP4 and I just flashed it to F5 from F4 and it seems to have solved the issue. Obviously they're different mobos and bios but a reflash might be an option, I know its relatively easy to do on the Asus boards

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have not gone to the ROG forum as suggested. Probably could have solved the problem much earlier as swaping the mobo seemed not to solve the problem.

There is a new Bios available that i am banking on. Plus i finally have the attention of someone at ASUS that can help. I am looking forward to having the problem solved next week.

Just to add to the confusion FedEx deliverd the second return board to the wrong place. Now i am waiting on FedEx to deliver it to the proper location and ASUS to repair the replacement board and of course shipping. I was hoping for a new one but at this point it looks like i am getting a re repaired exchange board in the place of my New Mobo. But I'll take what i can get at this point.

Thanks for the good words, all will be settled soon.

Hello All,

It's a done deal. I have both the CPU and mobo installed and working. the problems are gone, It works. I am still not sure if it was the cpu or motherboard, but, it works!

Asus was helpful and we found that one of the returned mobos was delivered to the wrong address. That caused a great deal of headaches for myself and Asus. They eventually caught the error and repaired and returned my 2nd mobo.

The multiplier Will now go above 34 with no problem now.

I would very much like to thank everyone for thier advice and consideration.

George....
