HELP Which timing or divider should I use?

Thread Starter
Hey

I just finished testing my ram (Corsair 1024-3200xlpt) and found that it is stable (provisionally 15 mins memtest86+) at the following timings and was wondering which one I should test more extensively?

200mhz 2-2-2-5 1T
225mhz 2-3-2-5 1T
230mhz 2-3-3-6 1T
260mhz 2.5-3-3-6 1T
265mhz 2.5-4-3-6 1T

310mhz 3-4-4-8 2T

My Opty 165 is orthos stable for 24 hours at 2.792mhz, at 1.38v, 310mhz ref clk. I was thinking of running it at this speed for now, and possibly looking to push for a higher overclock a little further down the line.

Which timings and or timing/divider combination should I use (and test)?

Any ideas?

try aiming for 260mhz 2.5-3-3-6 1T
its a good combo of Mhz and timings

Yes, I completely agree. You will never know until you try all of them out and benchmark if you want, but my guess is the 260Mhz option!

Hey Guys,

Running my ram at 260mhz at 2.5-3-3-6 1T seems to be the favorite.

My Opty 165 is stable at 2.795Ghz at 1.38vcore. That's a 310mhz ref clock. What divider should I use to get the ref clock to 310mhz while only running the ram at 260mhz?

Any advice?

Some guys on here have said that there is not much difference between 1T and 2T. Is that right?

Should I run my ram at 260mhz at 2.5-3-3-6 1T with a divider (which one?)?;

or should I run my ram at 310 at 3-4-4-8 2T at 1:1 (no divider)??

If someone could explain the difference between 1T and 2T, I would appreciate it!!

Cheers!

j/w your FSB is 300Mhz right? and the higest multi a 165 has is 9x so 300x9 =2700...not 2795...correct/ or am i just being a noob?
and run the first option, it is better

My bad, I meant 310mhz fsb, not 300 mhz fsb. I fixed the posts.
