Will It Work??

Thread Starter
Hello all. Just a Question.

Im looking to upgrade my computer too a new Core 2 duo beast. but I was wondering

All the mother boards I have been looking at are ATI Cross fire enabled. but I want to be running 8800 GTS, and eventually get a second so I can run it in SLI. will it still run on these motherboards althought theyre cross fire enabled???

Nope. You need a motherboard that supports SLI. I suggest a 680i motherboard.

i guess that can't be a definitive answer, cause i can remember an article i read somewhere that referred to someone being able to get an ati crossfire chipset based board (not sure, but think was a DFI) to function in sli mode.

of course they had to find some "special" drivers or so, but the fact was that somehow, they managed to put two nvidias operating in sli with a crossfire chipset.

which, being confirmed, is great news...
