EVGA Release ACS3 and Superclocked 8-Series - Page 6

looking at the figures, the cards seem to have a modest overclock, not too much but a lita-bit to give an extra oomph!!

And no, you would not be considered a moron by car enthusiasts for not changing you're own oil if you're not a car enthusiast in the first place (unless they happen to be jerks and full of themselves). Same thing in our community; why would we call someone else a moron if that someone has not interest or inclination towards overclocking. And no, the cards are not the same since they are overclocked and guaranteed to run at those speeds (this is usually the case on things you pay a additional money for). The question is, what would one consider a good MHz/dollar ratio on onverclocked products?

So I'm a moran because I don't want to overclock? Well, I have a reason, when I went to set my Core / Ram Volts back to stock my DFI set my Ram to 3.6v... I don't think STOCK and 3.6V are anything close because stock for my OCZ is 2.65V. I will probably keep everything stock on my new rig, and please, don't call me a moron... How do you suppose I helped 35 people?

Exactly my point. Here I see people throwing that word very freely. What ever happened to the good old "I don't agree with you" or "here is a better idea".

Your point is a very good one, and did anybody notice that the first time I used the word "moron" it was spelled "moran"... Anybody? All I'm saying is there is no need for me to overclock if I had an 8800GTX because they are beastly. With my ViewSonic's Native Resolution of 1240x1028 an 8800GTX could play F.E.A.R., Doom 3, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Flight Simiulator, and Half Life 2: Episode 1 at Maximum Settings with Full Anisotropic Filtering and Anti-Aliasing - while still getting an average FPS of about 50.

My 8800GTX only cost $580 and I got 10% free performance. Well with the Aid of ATItune and Ntune. I don't understand why anyone in the know would buy this when it runs naturally at 600/1000 and idle temps don't really change. My fan runs 100% all the time and the card seems faultless.
