Why is higer resolutions reduceing the bottleneck?

Hello!

As the title says. Why is higer resolutions reduceing the bottleneck? I have heard that it vill be more GPU dependent. But it must still use the cpu equal much? Or am i wrong? I am not getting this to work in my brain ...

lol, its because the higher the res, the more graphics power is required
eg: 1280 x 1024 res, for a 8800gtx this is nothing, but say u up the res tooo, 2048x1600 the card will require more of its visual processing power to work at that res, i stated this in simple terms.
Edit: the higer the res > the more vpp required > the more even the bottle neck will be

For people with smaller LCDs this can be a problem. The native resolutions on those limit them to set anything higher because it won't display it.

The GPU depends on the CPU to run. At lower resolution, some GPUs have plenty of extra power and is waiting on the CPU to pass more info. At higher resolutions and/or setting, the GPU has to do more work so it is kept busier. That means the CPU doesn't have to pass it data as often. If the CPU is bottlenecking, you want to put more work on the GPU just because you can. You might as well use up that extra GPU power.

With higher resolution, it takes a longer time for the GPU to render each frame, and so the CPU's transfer-of-data-to-GPU per second is reduced.

So it will reduce the bottleneck. Why?

EDIT: Eg if i run 800x600 i will get an lower fps then if i run 1024x768?
