Will This Work?

Hey guys, I have a New Motherboard (GA-Z87X-UD7 TH) that I would like to use with a Full motherboard Block from EK. However EK is not and has no intention of making a block for this board.

Now, I have done a pretty good amount of research and have come up with something I wanted to run by you guys, and also seek out if anyone has maybe tried this.

I've been looking at the GA-Z87X-OC Force which looks to have the same dimensions and block size layout. I'm wondering if I could potentially use the EK block made for the GA-Z87X-OC Force on the new GA-Z87X-UD7 TH ?

I'm including pictures for both boards and the water block from EK.

Thanks again in advance guys!!!!

The big issue is how the components on the PCB under those blocks compare to each other. Maybe you can contact Gigabyte to maybe get some more info on that. Maybe ask them if the blocks have the same underside.

No way to know for certain...looks like it would fit on there but the mounting holes might not line up. You need a view of the back...if the holes are even off by a few millimeters it probably won't work. The water block is flat underneath I believe...so if it can touch the components it should work. Some places might need a double layer of thermal padding if the height of the chipsets or VRMs were different.

If you never wanted the block back you could thermal adhesive it on there...well...you might get it off again...it is risky.

I just submitted an idea through EK's website where users can vote. Please show your support for this amazing board, and maybe EK will listen and make this Full Motherboard Block
