Thread Starter
Any one know the stock vcore for a 6400? I want to double check mine.

TAT says i'm 58° at full load, is the stock heatsink really that bad? D=

It depends, the A revision CPUs have a 1.325vcore as standard, and the B revision CPUs have a 1.2vcore as standard.

I'm not sure on this, but it's what I've heard.

So that would be a week 35, revision A

I have a 32A

Mine ran at a 1.325v stock vcore, so I'm guessing yours should as well. You'll be able to lower voltage to about 1v to decrease your temps. I ran perfectly fine at my CPUs stock frequency at 1v with very low temps (30 idle, 40 full load on stock cooler)

for temp monitoring, get everest or use TAT - TAT is better as it takes the temps straight from the core of the cpu, whereas Everest and others take it from the sides of the cpu...

the vcore is as Adam144 said, a 1.325v core...

your temps seem about normal as the stock HSF is not that great... my recommendation, the CNF7700 Cu cooler from Zalman, i'm getting soon and i have heard only good things about it... also, if you want to keep your temps down, get a good thermal paste, put a thin layer on (get a paste that brushes on if possible, you can make a thinner layer with a brush, e.g. Zalman)... another thing, check the airflow inside your case... i dropped about 12C just by turning a 250mm side fan from blowing air in to sucking it out...

hope this helps...

yeah you have to use something like cpuz or look in bios to figure out hwat the stock voltage is, either way with the c1e support i think it is enabled youll run between 1.2 roughly and 1.325 depending on the cpu load

alot of these core2duos have a really bad concave ihs which causes temps to really suck, you can check this with a ruler or sometypr of flat edge and if your not worried about warranty i strongly suggest you lap it to get the best performance temp wise

and yes the stock heatsinc is really bad and as stated i would recommend a aftermarket cooler of some kind
