best TV for 60" at pricepoint?

All,
I am considering a new TV between now and Feb...the Vizio M series looks halfway decent (VIZIO M601d-A3R 60-Inch 1080p 240Hz 3D Smart LED HDTV)

Amazon: $1,398 (and I get prime shipping)

Is there a better 60" TV in terms of picture quality and having some kind of "Smart TV" (internet) capability? general requirements:
  • While I know anything about 60Hz for TV's is simulated, thats ok.
  • 1080p is all I need, 16:9, don't care about 4k/UHD as that is still a LONG ways off from having content and justifying price
  • I don't really care about 3D-capable but I'd take it if there are no cost savings for removing it.
  • I like to watch blu-rays, play ps3 and stream movies from my networked computer (ps3 media server), and MIGHT get a ps4 next year
  • must have the smallest bezel possible, the one on my current Toshiba tv is quite large

Thanks

If you could save up another $100 worth of scratch a Panasonic ST60 plasma set would be better for blacks since the M60 still lags behind some of the other LED models in that respect.

It's a good value but the only thing I could take away from it above the ST60 would be a slightly thinner bezel and it's lighter. I like Vizio's offerings for 50 inches and smaller but at that size the bigger brands come into their own.

I just recently bought a 60" ST60 off of Amazon actually, been watching it for a few days now and put a decent calibration on it someone had posted in the AVS forums and my god, these tv's are heavely. There is no sense in buying any other model for that price if you actually care for image and build quality. The Panasonic plasmas, and plasmas in general, are amazing tech now that it matured. It's a damn shame sheeple buy up all the led's with awful color and black levels when for similar prices you can have reference level PQ. Totally sold on plasma!

thumb.gif , also I forgot to mention that Panasonic is closing their plasma division so it's a great chance to get some of the best plasma sets made atm and possibly get a deal too.

Well if you are willing to wait till Feb,why not put in an extra month of patience? March is the perfect month get a good a deal on TV's cause every year around April the new lineups start to roll out and the outlets kill the prices to get rid of their stock.
