Window 8.1 x64 multiple BSODs on newly built system.

Thread Starter
I just built my first system last night. Installed Window 8.1 on a 120GB Crucial M500 SSD. I've had 20+ various flavors of BSODs already .

Nirsoft BlueScreenView is showing me:
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
MEMORY_MANAGMENT
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
SYSTEM_PTE_MISUSE

System Hardware:
Mobo: Asrock FM2A75M Pro4+
CPU: AMD A10-5800K
RAM: Team Vulcan 16GB (2-8GB sticks)
SSD: Crucial M500 120GB

Please help. Like I said, this is my first system build. Is there something critical in the build process that I missed or something I should configure differently?

I'll provide other info if needed.

Thanks in advance.

thinking.gif Hmmm...I gotta hunch this could be an issue with your RAM. Be sure to check that both sticks are fully seated in the slots. Remove them and reinstall the sticks if you have to.

If you have a spare computer or buddy's comptuer, use it to setup a Memtest86+ bootable CD or USB drive. You can download it here. You'll want either the ISO version (so you can burn to a bootable CD) or the Bootable USB drive version. When you boot Memtest86+, it'll check your RAM for errors and report them. Basically, if it cranks out a bunch of errors then you have your answer. If not, report back and we can go from there. smile.gif

Ran MemTest86+ Ran one pass on each 8GB stick individually. No errors found. Reseated both sticks and the processor. Still getting the BSODs.

@tompsonn: I am unable to run the perfmon /report. It is giving me an error, "The operator or administrator has refused the request". The account I'm running on is the admin account. I tried running from the command line as well. What's next?

That's fine, perfmon is not a big deal smile.gif

I'll look at your files in a short while!

So total noob problem. frown.gif Was trying other things out, and removed one of the two sticks I'm running with. Ran for awhile, downloading stuff, trying to keep things busy. Didn't have any problems. Took a closer look at the pairing of the memory slots in the mobo manual and saw that I had the two sticks placed in off-paired slots. At first glance I saw/thought slot A1 and A2 would be paired as well as B1 with B2. But looking at the markings on the diagram Slot A1 is paired with B1 and A2 with B2. Chalk it up to my lack of attention to the small details. Thanks for the help anyway, but everything is running smoothly now.

Maybe this will help someone else who also might have missed the fine print. However, I'd like to think that since this was the biggest issue with my first build, I would call it pretty successful.
