Gtx 780 watercooled is making whine/hissing noise when stress testing, help please

Thread Starter
i recently watercooled my entire pc with a custom loop, i decided to try put a mild overclock on my gpu but i wanted to stress test before hand...
when i did. my graphics car released a annoying whine/hissing noise,

i tryed using 3d mark and the noise changed in volume and pitch depending on the load drawn on the gpu,
any idea what this is and what i can do about it?

as far as i can tell it is the gpu but it may be the cpu or powersupply. the sound is hard to isolate but my best estimate is the gpu.

I have the same issue...not sure what it is but mine GTX 780Ti) is water cooled with no moving parts on the card at all and gives off an electrical, very fast buzz/clicking sound when under load. It does it during Unigine Valley Benchmark.

It's just coil whine, the resistors and capacitors on a PCB sometimes vibrate a little when current is running through them. Generally speaking it's not harming the card or doing anything bad, but it's just annoying.
Some manufacturers will replace graphics card that whine badly at stock clocks at all frame rates. You'll find it's often worse the higher the fps

I definitely notice it getting louder/faster as the FPS increase...just never noticed it until yesterday. Of course I have two kids running around here so that seems to override any other sounds in the house. Thanks for the info...gonna do some more research and record it for ASUS.
