EmoSPARK | The First Artificial Intelligence Home Console

I've always been interesting in AI (big fan of sci-fi) and always wanted to have my computer be a bit more lively. You know it would be quite cool to have something like Watson as an assistant (which will be used for the military & hospitals, etc). I've looked into it before and found Ultra Hal Assistant 6.2. Zabaware has done a great job working on their AI and it actually does learn from you, etc. But I've always felt like although the programming was quite advanced, everything else looked & felt extremely dated. But today I found this: http://www.emospark.com/

I think this thing will be the closest to having a more polished & useful home AI. I hope it isn't too expensive.

Honestly Ultra sucks, I gave it 3 different tries because I heard from some ppl who said it was good. It couldn't understand half the things I was saying, and overall was just more annoying rather than helpful. I wouldn't mind an AI like the one in Iron Man.

Yes, Jarvis would be cool to have around.

The Ultra Hal one takes a while to learn (it actually does learn) from you and then it starts to comprehend you better but still isn't quite there in terms of what most of us want for an AI. But it's something! Especially for the price. I'm sure Watson is a tens of thousands of dollars hehe, so can't wait for that one. The Indiegogo for this EmoSPARK (terrible name) is starting soon, so hopefully they'll have more info, etc soon.

I know that it does, I used it for 30 days, but honestly it still just felt more annoying than anything. It couldn't understand half my words, to the questions I would ask it would give me some long philosophical answers that I had absolutely no need for. I just felt like they made him say overcomplicated things just so that the AI would sound smarter. It was pointless and honestly stupid.

EmoSPARK looks fantastic but the name makes me think of a Dota 2 character Wisp a.k.a IO, that is all dark and has blood dripping from cutting itself.

Hey guys, the Indiegogo campaign for EmoSPARK just started January 2nd. Have a look and let us know what you think: http://igg.me/at/emospark/x/5942737

The name was actually inspired by the "Spark" cube in Transformers. We're big fans.

Thanks,
Daniel @EmoSPARKTeam

I'd also enjoy Mr. Smith from Doctor Who

Woah, thanks for responding here Daniel. It's great to see it surpassed the goal! About the comment I made of the name. I like the "Spark" part but hated the "emo" part. Maybe I'm younger than most folks on here or something but it gives me a terrible connotation to "emo" teen culture (which I was a part of...shrug). It would have been great if it was just called SPARK, in my opinion.

But anyway, awesome product, can't wait to see where it goes!

You could say the same for a lot of products. But this would be the first practical artificial intelligence. Think of having a personal assistant.
