E6300 + P5B Deluxe overclock

Thread Starter
i'm getting help from people on this forum already but it wouldn't hurt to get more help ^_^

this is my first overclock but i've already toyed with the bios a few times and i know my way around it.

right now everything is set to defaults.

specs:
e6300 conroe w/ scythe infinity hsf
crucial ddr2 1000 pc2 8000 2gb kit
p5b deluxe
700 watt ocz gamestream psu
antec p180

on pcu-z my ram ratio is 2:3
400 mhz 5-5-5-18

i installed bios 0711 on my motherboard

does anyone have any suggestions for settings or anything else? and if you need any other information just let me know where i can fetch it, thanks.

first of all... Happy New Year...

second, fill in your specs so we know bit more bout your system and we don't have to read the first post each time...

third - what are your temps like, and what kind of cooling do you have? i would say, change your multiplier to 8x and then take it to 250Mhz one time, change your ratio to 1:1 if possible...

how's your cooling in your case? change your memory timings a bit... try get them as low as possible...

let me know...

so it might have been higher because of load. download Intel TAT and use that at the desktop with nothing running besides whats starts when the cmoputer boots up.

Intel TAT
http://www.overclock.net/downloads/1...intel-tat.html

that will then give you your idle temp which will help with knowing what your temps are. cause if your idle is the high 30's theres something wrong.
