umm cpu at 400mhz
ram timing 4-4-4-12
ram at 1000 mhz
2.30v

cpu at 1.45v

temps: my temps shot up to 36 idle and 44 load :/

and this is with the bird poop as5 method.
i'm going to try to do the thick cross method you mentioned to see if i can hit 31/32 -- what are your temps? are you over overclocked?

400 x 7 = 2.8Ghz will be your optical performance. However, 401Mhz will be considerably more stable. If you are getting random reboots, you are not stable. Increase the north bridge voltage to the max in BIOS.

after reapplication of the as5 more than a few times i'm still 37c idle. i decided that i'm going to lap it. any word of warning before i proceed? i'm going to grab the sand paper tomorrow and i read that odorless kerosene works better than water and dish washing liquid.

After you lap it, be sure to use some graph paper to ensure a flat surface. Use even less AS5 than before. Good luck! Be sure to post some pictures for all of us.
