Guess who's going Asus! - Page 2

I was thinking about getting a different DFI board, but I think my parents would take me out into the field and shoot me if I got a board by the same brand. My mom has spent like over $30 sending these boards back to the egg. And thanks everybody for not breaking my balls because on DFI street, whew. They would give me the interrogation:

Everything plugged in?
RAM in the orange slots?

All of that stuff.

And even then, if I said that I was sending it back, they would permanently cast me out in their community lol, and neglect all of my threads like they do.

A better board for your choice would have been the SLI-D(R)... not the Expert... sorry about your luck...
My DFI board LOVES my TCCD Corsair sticks, but only if they are in the orange slots, it refuses to boot in the yellows. Once you get TCCD sticks to work, the end result IS AMAZING. ddr550 @ 2.5-3-3-7 snooch to the nooch.

Although I migrated from ASUS and Ive gotta say sometimes I miss my old ASUS board (it was retired to folding 24/7) - I think if DFI starts to really slide down hill Ill go back to ASUS but for the time being DFI ftw baby

I feel your pain I had to RMA my asus board back, would not load bios or anything, It may have been the PSU but I have seen other peoples reviews and they are powering a lot more with the cheap PSU i have. So I just ordered a seasonic i think bred suggested and RMAd the Mobo to newegg $20 for shipping gay [Newegg]

In my opinion, however it's strictly from what I've seen and read, the A8N32-Deluxe is the board for 939. I love ASUS. ASUS is the best motherboard you can buy, in my opinion. I overclocked my computer in 30 seconds (not joking) and it's been very stable.

Agree on that.I love this board. And the features.I can oc too in couples of minutes. And boot @ any set up.Take a look. That was trying to see if really I can go more in the cpu and yes I can.Only going to need some better memory.Look the volt's is more room to go more and this is no mod in the mobo only the overvolt's enable.Good luck with you'r new board.

I love my DFI board but there is definately a stricter learning curve when it comes to bios settings and certain hardware compatabilities. And yes DFI street people tend to not want to be bothered and expect everyone to just look at databases and previous post for info, not as friendly as here. Not to mention they post hardware compatability lists prematurely I think and change them before they give users a chance to post what real world issues are popping up. A few hours in a lab isn't always going to show everything that can go wrong with new tech. There 3200 CF Lanparty boards have a known ULI bug issue since forever and DFI has done pretty much nothing and has moved on to AM2 and pretty much left people on there own to resolve it.

UN-cool points for giving up. I still say that it's just the Expert, the only problem I've ever had with my Ultra-D is that the high-pitched whine from my chipset cooler is slowly driving me insane.

Dude, you cannot just give up.

Try getting a refund on the Expert and buying a different DFI board.

It took me about 30 minutes to get my RAM working in my board, and thats just one stick - I could have given up, but why; my board is awesome
