I remember COD:World at War took a good month or two for them to fix peoples stats from being reset.

COD: Black Ops had network issues that lasted a good 2-3 weeks

COD: Black Ops 2 was so broken for me that I only played around 10+ hrs of online.

Batman: Arkham City had a major save issue that would randomly delete your game progress. Making it impossible to recover forcing you to restart the campaign mode. Took them literally 3+ months to fix the issue. The save issue made the game unplayable (unless you were fine with beating the game in one sitting) for 3+ months. Hands down, this game had the worst launch in the last couple of years.

Batman Arkham Origins had crash issues and glitch issues. Preventing you from continuing the story at some points.

Diablo 3 many people having network issues/errors.

GTA5 Multiplayer

SimCity

And I consider myself one of the lucky ones with BF4.

Issues are one thing, but this is ridiculous, and it's months after launch. They're borking hardware support (SLI/Crossfire) and REMOVING features because they are INCAPABLE of optimization (foliage physics). They are OUT of excuses. They had 2 years to develop a game that barely differs from it's predecessor.

Holy crap, the game is SO MUCH WORSE NOW.

Seriously, I could handle not playing Siege of Shanghai because of the sound loop crash, but the net code is just TERRIBLE now. I'm getting killed like 5 seconds after I go behind cover/corners....wth.gif

And every single death it seems like I die instantly now. I get shot once then just dead.

The only good fps game out today is csgo. Seriously what the heck.

Indie games are getting more and more attractive since they do not have shareholders or publisher pressuring them. But I am still on the fence if I should buy BF4 even though I read the issues in this thread. I am just banking that BF4 will get their stuff together in a few months.

ç

You should buy it. It IS a great game (i'm enjoying it quite a bit and suffered from none of the above issues to an extent to become bothersome).
But if you can, try to grab an offer and pay less than the total standard price. Oh, and also, get premium. It is totally worth it.

The fact that other games have lousy launches doesn't in any way excuse DICE/EA.

Some games I've played in the past 2 years or so that had no significant launch issues:
Bioshock Infinite
Borderlands 2
Far Cry 3
Crysis 3
Max Payne 3
Metro Last Light

That list represents the majority of games I have purchased at launch in the past 2 years.

Well the games you listed are mostly single-player where they don't have to deal with server and client network while handling 64 players at a time.

wut

Borderlands 2 is primarily a co-op game. Crysis 3 has a fairly popular multiplayer, as does Max Payne 3.

Nice, downloading now. I have had many of those problems, especially the "one for one" where you kill the guy who killed you at the same time.
