Welcome to the world of DayZ, hit by a new and presently unknown infection which has wiped out most of the world's population. You are one of the few that have survived and now you must search this new wasteland in order to fight for your life against what is left of the indigenous population now infected with the disease. Go solo, team up with friends or take on the world, as you choose your path in this brutal and chilling landscape using whatever means you stumble upon to survive.

DayZ is currently in early alpha and we see a lot of work ahead of us in order to make it the true authentic multiplayer experience we want it to be. Current version is including only small subset of game mechanics and serves mostly as test bed with core technology that should serve as basis for future additions and improvements.

We estimate that reaching Beta version with all key features present will take more than one year from current stage. All features and plans listed here are subject to change, we may add or remove features as seen fit during development process.

sweet. Is this rebuilt in Source? Seems like I had heard something about that?

I got it, but there don't seem to be any servers up yet

No. It has some aspects of Arma 3's engine added to the Arma 2 base it uses, and they've also done some of their own stuff to it.

So if you buy know, what do the developers expect back ?

Just feedback of any bugs found?

That is literally the only thing stopping my from jamming money into the screen.
Yeah I wouldn't count on it going on sale that close after release. Who knows though. I'd just get it if I were you

Bug reports are more appreciated than expected I'm sure. Not everyone takes the time to go and report bugs, but if you do right on. They just really want you to accept the situation of release (early access alpha) and what's to come with that.

So basically accept the fact that you get it cheap, and evolve with it. A lot like Minecraft.

I better transfer some money, and start downloading

Yea, just bought it. Downloading at 2mb/s.

Watching some live streams - it looks AMAZING. The new loot/character gear adds so much.

/edit

A heads up for new people: The steam page is wrong; it's not 10 or 14gb, it's 5gb.

I think what steam is saying is, when the full game is done, you'll be needing 14gb.

Btw this is what your paying for:

live stream dayz

seems farily empty atm from what I've seen in the stream

Hooray. Kinda wish I hadn't watched the 3 hours worth of stream about a week ago, and another 3 hours a couple of days ago. I thought for sure they'd push back the launch even further. Can't wait to get home, download it, and enjoy the myriad of bugs there are sure to be (just watching the stream you can lose count). Doesn't bother me though; I played many MANY hours of the mod, and that thing was buggy as all heck.
